Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks, Inc. is a community of locally incorporated/owned banks and other financial institutions in the CARICOM Region, which provides an opportunity for discussion on issues impacting on the banking and financial services community as well as for the sharing of experiences.
The Association comprises forty
eight (48) Member Banks/Financial Institutions, and three (3) Honorary Members, namely the Caribbean Development Bank, CARICOM and the Caribbean Centre for Monetary Studies. The total asset base of the Members is approximately US$17 billion.
The Association provides a platform from which the financial institutions could influence regional policy on issues which have implications for the banking and business sectors, such as the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), World Trade Organization (WTO), and the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). It also facilitates Caribbean indigenous banks’ and financial institutions' intervention in the global network of similar institutions.
